Marble, quartz, and granite differ in terms of their durability, maintenance, cost, and style:

  • Durability

Granite is the most durable, followed by quartz, and then marble. Granite is a tough igneous rock that can withstand significant wear and tear. Quartz is strong and resistant to scratches and chips. Marble is more susceptible to staining, scratching, and etching.

  • Maintenance

Quartz is low maintenance and doesn't require sealing. Granite requires periodic sealing. Marble requires regular maintenance, including sealing and immediate cleaning of spills.

  • Cost

Marble is one of the most expensive countertop materials. Quartz is less expensive than marble.

  • Style

Quartz is available in more colors and design variations than granite or marble. Marble is often named after the place where it is found, and a famous type of white marble comes from Carrara, Italy. Granite can come in many colors and can even resemble marble, with veins and clouds.

  • Heat resistance

Granite is heat-resistant, but marble and quartz can be damaged by high temperatures.
